The original organ in 1922 was placed in the apse at the front of the church. In 1975 Wells-Kennedy carried out a radical tonal revision and moved the organ to the west gallery in a new contemporary case. Following a car bomb, the church and organ were badly damaged. The opportunity presented allowed a radical rethink of the scheme. Subsequently the organ was moved back to the apse and a new case designed. The 1975 tonal scheme has been retained with a few modifications and new slider soundboards have been provided.
